1. You give access to a trusted individual, like a neighbor or close friend, via the ADT+ app.
2. Next, you define permissions. You can assign neighbors timed access, allowing them to enter and exit during specific hours, or event-based admittance. For example, if a package shows up, the system can release the door to allow your neighbor to bring it indoors once it validates them.
3. When you’ve configured access, your Google Nest Doorbell with familiar face capability recognizes your neighbor when they come near the door.
4. Your ADT security system will deactivate the alarm and release the door lock when the person is verified as an authorized user.
5. You get instant updates as your neighbor comes and goes. The app also provides a detailed log. 
6. When the trusted neighbor exits, your smart door lock automatically secures to protect your home.

You can grant access for any person you wish, such as a service technician, animal sitter, or a companion who comes over when you’re not there. This tool is also useful during urgent events, specifically when you’re away. For instance, if a water sensor goes off, your system can grant event-driven access so a neighbor can shut off the water. Programming permissions is easy with the helpful app.
